SANA'A, Dec. 21 (YJS) - Yemen Journalists Syndicate (YJS) condemned on Tuesday the threat made against journalist Mohammed al-Syaghi.
In a press release issued by the YJS Freedom Committee, the syndicate called on the Interior Ministry to protect al-Syaghi and to open an investigation in this regard.
The YJS demanded the ministry to identify the perpetrator to be punished in accordance with the law.
Mohammed al-Syaghi, a journalist in Yemen News Agency (Saba), has reported the Syndicate that he was threatened on Sunday, 19/12-2010, from unknown person via a phone call from a private number.
The threat was made on the grounds of an interview al-Syaghi made with Minister of Youth and Sports Hamoud Ubad and published in Alsyasiah paper on the failures of Yemeni national football team in the 20th Gulf Championship held in Aden and Abyan provinces.
